A Cutter is responsible for setting up and operating die-cutting machinery to produce high-quality paper products according to customer specifications and production schedules. This role requires a strong understanding of the paper die-cutting processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE
2nd shift: 2:30pm-10:30pm, Mon - Fri. Training takes place on 1st shift (6:30am-2:30pm)
3rd Shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am, Sun - Thurs. Training takes place on 1st shift (6:30am-2:30pm)

WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?

  • Reads order jacket to determine specifications of order to be cut.
  • Set up die-cutting machines, including loading dies, adjusting pressure and speed, and ensuring proper alignment on a wide variety of equipment in Manufacturing.
  • Operate the machines safely and efficiently to cut paper stock according to job specifications.
  • Ensure that all products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify and address potential quality issues.
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks on machinery.
  • Completes paperwork at the end of tasks

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Basic math skills: The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience operating die cutting machines, preferably in a paper converting or printing environment.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

  • Stamina & Mobility: Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8-12 hours). Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.
  • Weight Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.
  • Manual Dexterity: Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components.
  • Range of Motion: Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.
  • Sensory/Vision: Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.
  • Work Environment: Ability to perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
