Logistics Intern

As a Logistics Intern you will get a variety of hands-on experience in dispatching trucks, customer service, and learning in depth knowledge about the industry. You will also gain a variety of professional skills by working with different departments within the company. This opportunity will provide you with a great foundation of skills and experience to continue building your career!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Dispatch orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate with drivers and direct them to delivery locations.
- Work directly with surrounding areas to better service customers by utilizing multiple plants and look to share trucks.
- Ability to multitask and stay focused while dealing with various contractors, salespeople, dispatchers, and other personnel.
- Talk with customers by phone and enter data into computer system.
- Solicit future orders from customers and enter order into computer system.
- Negotiate with customers' acceptable delivery times to prevent lost orders.
- Document customer complaints and forward to Dispatch Manager and/or Sales Representative.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written to build strong relationships while promoting the organization.
- Able to prioritize projects, high attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and ability to follow up in a timely manner.
- Excellent computer skills including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with a minimum of 3 years completed, or graduated with a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or a related area.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
