St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting résumés for the position of Dispatcher/Clerk in the Office of Public Safety. General duties include operation of radio communications equipment, dispatching routine and emergency calls for service, handling requests for service from the campus community and the general public, and acting as liaison with County and State Emergency Services. Working hours are varied on a 24-hour per day basis. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. This is a full-time entry level position with an annual salary of $35,570, plus benefits.

Non-sectarian since its founding, St. Mary's College of Maryland, a public Carnegie Baccalaureate, Arts and Sciences institution located in Historic St. Mary's City, 70 miles southeast of Washington, D.C., has been designated as Maryland's public honors college. Undergraduate and residential in nature, with a diverse coeducational student body numbering approximately 1800, St. Mary's emphasizes excellence in teaching. The institution was awarded a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in 1997. The quality of life is enhanced by the recreational opportunities of the Chesapeake region and close proximity to the amenities of Washington D.C., Baltimore and Richmond.

Qualifications

  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • At least six months of related experience, familiarity with basic data entry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate well with students.
  • Working hours are varied on a 24-hour per day basis.

Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
