Description

EHS Manager

The EHS Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at the facility and is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliance work environment for all associates at Regal Rexnord.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops, improves, and deploys Environmental Health and Safety internal procedures and controls.
  • Drives Environmental/ Health and Occupational Safety Management Systems, Waste Minimization, Emergency Management, Employee Engagement, communication etc. in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Responsible to obtain and update required permits and EH&S reports to regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments to drive performance.
  • Lead accident investigations and evaluate risk management to mitigate significant hazards and loss trends.
  • Manage workers compensation and claims management, including coordinating return to work activities and claim resolution.
  • Function as a liaison between government officials and Regal Rexnord on all safety and environmental related issues.
  • Ensure all Fire and Emergency Equipment (Extinguishers, Pumps, Smoke Detectors, Sprinklers, Valves, and Fire Alarms) are complying and functional.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and other committees.
  • Deploy and manage ergonomic standards within the site.
  • Report on Health and Safety issues and statistics on a timely manner.
  • Supervises the activities of the security team for the site.
  • Implement and facilitate environmental, health and safety education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.
  • Be capable of aligning the local team and influencing others to achieve the desired EHS performance objectives outlined by corporate initiatives, business unit initiatives, and local/site initiatives.
  • Develop and implement annual Environmental Health and Safety compliance calendar.
  • Lead Environmental Health and Safety discussion during Safety Operation Review.
  • Partners with leadership team and plant manager to create a safety and sustainability culture through performing job risk assessments and behavior modification programs.
  • Provide hiring, promotion, and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.
  • Lead Environmental Health and Safety discussion during Safety Operation Review.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, manages risks, and develops strategies and standardized methods to ensure continuous improvement in the EHS function.
  • Raise awareness at all organizational levels of the impact of emerging EHS issues including ethical, social responsibility, best practices, and legislation.
  • Build strong relationships with other internal functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • In-depth knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety Regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Electronic, Mechanical, or similar) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS or related functions
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree
  • Site Responsibility
  • Acting in a supervisory/management/leader role
  • EHS Certification (ex. CET, CIH, CSP).
  • OSHA 10
  • OSHA 30, preferably
  • First/ AID/CPR Certified/ Trainer +
  • Worker Protection Standards Train the Trainer Certified
  • HAZWOPER 40
  • Confined Spaces Competent Person
  • Fall Protection Competent Person
  • Job Risk Assessment
  • Accident Investigations
  • Knowledge of Safety KPI's

Travel: Up to 10%
