Electrical and Mechanical Automation Specialist

Rock of Ages is seeking a Electrical and Mechanical Automation Specialist to join our production team in Graniteville, VT.

Our teams work with natural granite to produce high-quality stone products for clients across North America and internationally. This role plays a key part in supporting production by ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and continuous operation in a manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working as part of a collaborative team. This position involves servicing existing automation and controls as well as implementing new systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, build and repair industrial equipment and production machinery
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Work with electrical components such as wiring, sensors, and control systems
  • Support installation, setup, and commissioning of equipment
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Monitor and manage maintenance-related inventory and supplies
  • Collaborate with production teams to support operational needs
  • Follow all safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or not less than 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education from an accredited electrical trade with experience.
  • Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, productions, or a related technical field
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment and maintenance practices
  • Experience with motor controls and PLC systems is an asset
  • Ability to read technical documents, diagrams, or code structures is an asset
  • Comfortable using computers and common software (e.g., Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and standards
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required
  • Occasional sitting for computer-based tasks
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying conditions
Working Conditions:
  • Employment status: Permanent / Full-time.
  • Hourly rate: $35 and up depending on industry experience.
  • Schedule 1st Shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Monday to Friday, with the possibility of overtime.
