Job Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Safety Manager, work with the site Safety Team, Operations Managers, and Maintenance to ensure the effective application of established safety practices, utilization of safety equipment and devices, and elimination of hazardous conditions and unsafe practices.
- Participate in the development and implementation of department specific safety goals and procedures as required by regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety walk-throughs throughout the worksite, engaging the workforce and leadership group to identify safety issues and develop solutions.
- Review and update policies and training programs as directed by the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis.
- Develop and coach effective accident investigations through the thorough review of Incident Investigations. The review shall include follow-up activities with Production Managers to ensure reports are properly completed and that potential corrective measures are thoroughly reviewed and implemented when/where appropriate.
- Review and update policies and training programs.
- Conduct monthly regulatory training, forklift training, scissor lift training and other related safety courses.
- Complete safety assessments and observations.
- Complete other Ad hoc duties as assigned by manager
- Support "Lean Business Enterprise" initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Two years' professional experience in Environmental Health and Safety or a role with transferable skills such as auditing.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification by a recognized training and certification provider. If not currently certified, willing and able to become certified within 4 weeks on the job.
