Facilities Specialist 1
Facilities Specialist 1 is responsible for supporting the maintenance, operations, and safety of Companys public recreation facilities located across multiple reservoir sites. Working under the guidance of the Shoreline Recreation Team Leader, this role assists with maintaining 74 recreation sites, including shoreline areas, buildings, boat ramps, roads, and related infrastructure. The position requires regular travel to recreation sites and ensures facilities are maintained in compliance with company policies and FERC hydro license requirements.
Travel daily to various APC public recreation sites for inspections and maintenance activities.
Perform general maintenance and minor repairs for buildings, equipment, grounds, piers, boat ramps, and roads.
Assist in coordinating maintenance and repair work with external vendors and contractors.
Build and maintain relationships with service providers, contractors, and security personnel.
Support vendor management by assisting with obtaining quotes and monitoring service delivery.
Assist in implementing safety and security procedures and conducting safety inspections.
Maintain documentation and records related to maintenance, repairs, and facility operations.
Promote environmentally sustainable practices such as waste reduction and energy conservation.
Experience in land, building, and facility maintenance or management.
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, general repairs, and construction activities.
Experience supporting construction, landscaping, carpentry, masonry, or site development projects.
Experience operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Familiarity with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance projects is preferred.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and travel frequently.
Comfortable interacting with the public at recreation sites.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete inspection and maintenance checklists.
Carpentry and concrete experience is a plus.
Ability to respond to emergency maintenance requests, including weekends if needed.
Must possess or obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within one year of hire.
Willingness to travel extensively across company's reservoir system throughout the state.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
