Front Counter Associate

Job Summary: The Front Counter Associate serves as the primary point of contact for walk-in customers while supporting daily warehouse operations. This role is responsible for accurately processing orders, assisting customers with product selection, and coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure timely and correct fulfillment. The position requires strong customer service skills, product knowledge of fasteners and industrial supplies, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicating with supervisors or warehouse leads regarding shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
  • Greet and assist walk-in customers at the front counter in a professional and friendly manner
  • Process customer orders accurately using the company's order entry system
  • Identify and locate fasteners and industrial products to meet customer needs
  • Communicate with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Pull, stage, and package orders for customer pickup when required
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by reporting discrepancies and assisting with cycle counts
  • Receive, stock, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations
  • Handle cash, credit, and account transactions in accordance with company procedures
  • Answer phone inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and order status
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized front counter and warehouse area
  • Follow all safety policies and warehouse operating procedures
  • Support shipping, receiving, and other warehouse duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Previous warehouse or front counter experience (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret order forms, invoices, and shipping labels.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand, bend, or walk for long periods.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced warehouse or distribution center setting.
  • May involve exposure to varying temperatures depending on the facility.
  • Requires adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Schedule: This is a first-shift, full-time, non-exempt position. Local candidates are preferred. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Benefit options include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Paid Vacation/PTO, Paid Holidays, 401(k) and/or Roth.
