Middlesex County Stem Charter School Front Desk Receptionist
Middlesex County STEM Charter School (MCSCS) is a public school serving grades Kindergarten through 8th grades and open to all students who reside in the City of Perth Amboy. The school is free to all students and families and is a replication of the Central Jersey College Prep Charter School, a recipient of the 2016 Blue-Ribbon Award and other prestigious awards. The mission of the Middlesex County STEM Charter School is to provide rigorous science, technology, engineering, and math curricula in a diverse and nurturing environment to spark students' interest at an early age in STEM careers. Hiring for School Year 2026-2027 Front Desk Receptionist Responsibilities Include:
- Provide a warm, professional welcome to all visitors, ensuring they are properly signed in accordance with district safety protocols
- Direct incoming calls to the appropriate departments and take detailed messages for staff and administration.
- Serve as a resource for parents regarding school schedules, events, and general inquiries.
- Monitor the main entrance, verify identification, and issue visitor badges to maintain a secure campus
- Assist in coordinating school safety drills and serve as a central communication hub during emergency situations
- Follow all Board policies and OSHA standards as outlined in the School Employee Handbook
- Manage daily student attendance, late sign ins, and early dismissal
- Handle student record requests and maintain organized filing systems for administrative documents
- Monitor office supply levels and coordinate with the Director of Operations for ordering as needed.
Essential Duties:
- Communicates responsibly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and school leadership;
- Accounts for student attendance and punctuality;
- Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures;
- Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities;
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent;
- Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale;
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proven communication and instructional strategies;
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing;
- Bilingual; English and Spanish
- Excellent organizational skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- NJ Criminal History;
- Work authorization in the U.S.;
- Tuberculosis Test;
- Experience is a plus.

8 hour shift - Monday to Friday Work Location: In person Job Types: Full-time, 10-Month Contract Salary Starting: $43,000.00 per year
