GLUAU Maintenance - Day

Maintenance - Day (Day Crew)

Department: Germaine's Luau

Reports to: Luau Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Starting at $15.25/ Hr

The Day Crew position is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the luau grounds in accordance with Germaine's Luau Operations standards of quality. The Day Crew ensure the luau grounds are well-maintained and cleaned including any safety or equipment needs, prior to or after the an event. The incumbent also assists with inventory control of equipment and supplies. This role maintains a thorough knowledge of Germaine's Luau Operations and all its grounds, products and services as well as awareness of other roles and responsibilities throughout the organization. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests.

Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:

  • Deep clean and fully restock the restroom facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of closets; remove trash, wipe down shelves/counters; rinse and hose down floors and decks; remove non-floor closet items and transport to proper storage areas.
  • Upkeep the luau grounds with supervisor's directives for landscape maintenance of hedges, bushes and trimming of overgrown foliage.
  • Clean designated areas with proper chemicals, tools, and equipment.
  • Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers for recycling.
  • Prepare and lay the pig in the imu pit for cooking and clean the pit area for presentation.
  • Report any damages, maintenance problems or safety hazards to the Supervisor.
  • Communicates with supervisor verbally and through written communication throughout the shift to ensure proper notification and follow through of assigned tasks.
  • Maybe assigned other duties as needed by the Luau Manager on duty.

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in meeting rooms including basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

Ability to understand verbal and written English sufficient to understand verbal job requests from supervisor and guests; ability to set up a room by following a flow chart.

Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 75 lbs. through a crowded area. This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift from room set up and break down.

Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining.

Can work on own as well as part of a team.

Performs work well with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Adept at understanding guest's service needs

Clear thinker who can remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.

Prioritizes well, shows energy, reacts to opportunities, and instills urgency in others.

Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department; willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time.
