Green Representative - Fall 2026

Promote campus sustainability amongst the student body to help create a culture of sustainability at SUNY Cortland. Increase student engagement and community building related to sustainability and sustainable practices. Increase environmental behaviors on campus. Planning and running programming events centered around sustainability and sustainable actions/topics. Posters/displays in residence halls/other communication platforms (i.e. social media, newsletter, etc.). Attend and be an active participant in weekly Green Rep meetings. Work 10 hours a week – a portion of work expectation is attending group/project group meetings and working independently or in smaller groups. Hold environmentally focused programs (minimum of 3/semester). Assist Energy and Sustainability Engagement Coordinator with larger campus-wide Sustainability Events, including but not limited to Earth Month, Red Dragon ReUse, CortaCan Collection, etc. Work with fellow Green Reps in a semester-long project to develop campus infrastructure and culture surrounding sustainability. Research, write and create informative graphics and short videos on sustainability topics to share on social media accounts and stories for the Sustainability Office newsletter. Complete all tasks in a timely manner. Attend training sessions (1 training per semester).

Required Qualifications - When applying, hired and working, you must be a SUNY Cortland student. Effective communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to see project through to completion. Ability to learn information about environmental topics and relate information to your peers. Ability to complete tasks on-time and on deadline.

Preferred Qualifications - When applying, hired and working you are living on SUNY Cortland's campus in one of the residence halls.
