About This Opportunity

This position is responsible for:

Instructing group fitness classes to all ages and levels. Designing instructional programs and demonstrating proper techniques and styling to all levels of participants. Participating in employee training/meetings and other occasional Kroc Center Fitness Department programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct with sound principles and expert skills in the area of group fitness classes.
• Provide individual guidelines for development in the area of group fitness classes.
• Critique and give feedback to participants regarding individual progress.
• Attends regular meetings to ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
• Meet all health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department as well as The Salvation Army.
• Must be in good physical and mental health, capable of meeting the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs.

What We Are Looking For In You

Education and Experience:

1. Two years of experience in instruction of group fitness classes.
2. Must successfully complete the Safe from Harm Child Abuse training as established by The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
3. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
4. Have a Philosophy of education and child development, which is consistent with that of the Center and The Salvation Army.
5. Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.

Certifications:

1. Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide certification within first 30 days of employment.
