Comp Range: $28.3052 - 29.3733

Bonuses: Based on plant quarterly results.

SUMMARY:

The Material Handler Production must work safely and observe all plant safety, GMP and food safety rules. Responsible for the safe and effective use of industrial lift trucks in accordance with plant procedures. Routinely retrieve and stage raw ingredients/material for production processing. Stage and deliver recoup product. Transport and deliver waste totes. Provide relief for other positions as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Perform material handling duties which include but are not limited to:
    • Pick up and stage frozen, dry and other raw materials for processing.
    • Stage packaging materials to the line and remove waste packaging.
  • Maintain simple records and paperwork related to inventory and quality.
  • Performs TPM duties and participates in TPM activities as required of the position.
  • Scan raw ingredients used for production with Microsoft D365. Return left over raw ingredients back into inventory using Microsoft D365.
  • Must learn to operate baler, tie bale, remove bale, prep the next bale, and put tied bale on recycle trailer.
  • Performs other duties required of the position or as directed.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to complete industrial lift truck license training.
  • Excellent attention to details and accuracy required.
  • Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Great work attitude, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work overtime on short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to pass a post offer pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment background check, and pre-employment physical.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical aspects of the job as performed in an 8-hour workday.

  • Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
  • Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., 50+ lbs. with assistance.
