Head Janitor

This is a 12 month position. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must have some knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in cleaning operation. Must have the knowledge and ability to operate all machinery and equipment used by janitorial personnel and must be able to teach new personnel. Must have the ability to understand and pass on written and oral instructions. Must be able to check necessary repairs, make the repairs if possible, and/or make recommendations. Must be able to make orders for all maintenance and janitorial supplies. Must have the ability to assign, participate and supervise the work of other janitors and sweepers. Must be able to lift 80 pounds. Must pass background check and functional assessment test prior to employment as required by Vermilion Parish School Board policies and procedures.
