Hospitality Intern

We are currently looking for hardworking and motivated students to join our hotel or restaurant teams as a Hospitality Intern.

Join Settlers Hospitality Group's team of hospitality professionals as they create and deliver high-quality restaurant and hotel experiences to hundreds of guests across multiple boutique hotels and restaurants.

The Hospitality Intern will work directly with a team of Directors of Food and Beverage, Directors of Catering, or Directors of Hotels and across multi-concept restaurants that include farm to table, small plate, contemporary casual, high-end catering, and pastry. The intern will gain an understanding of how to develop products aligned to property vision, how to manage labor and cost of goods, and how to partner across departments to ensure a superlative guest experience. This exciting opportunity provides Hospitality Interns the opportunity to learn how to work with a team of hospitality professionals to craft experiences that match the concept design of multiple boutique hospitality experiences.

This opportunity is a traditional (semester-long), part-time internship.

Summer, May start date (start date can be flexible)

24+ hours per week (can be more if candidate is interested)

$15/hour

This opportunity will be in-person/on-site

Projects:

Develop innovative specials or menu items in collaboration with Directors of Food and Beverage, Directors of Catering, and Directors of Hotels

Work with the Settlers Hospitality team to plan and execute special events

Shape a positive staff culture in partnership with hospitality professionals on leadership team

Exposure to managing quality control, cost of goods, and ordering

Support the opening and development of new projects within the hospitality group

Traditional hospitality management practice and insight will be included!

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Hospitality coursework of any collegiate level
  • Experience in hospitality is a plus but not required
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Positive, professional, outgoing personality with a hands-on attitude
  • Microsoft, Office Suite, and proficient computer and internet skills
  • Interest in boutique hospitality experiences
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Passion for food, beverage, tourism, and hospitality
  • Commitment to developing NEPA hospitality and tourism is a plus but not required
  • Basic or higher-level computer skills
  • Math and English skills
  • Current RAMP certificate a plus
  • This position requires the ability to lift 50lbs or more
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
