About the Family

A private, informal yet highly organized family in Villanova, PA is seeking a professional and self-directed housekeeper to manage the day-to-day cleanliness and organization of their home. The family values discretion, independence, and a consistently high standard of care.

Children: Three children (full-time nanny in place)
Home Size: Current home ~6,500 sq ft
Pets: None
Household Staff: Full-time nanny
Responsibilities

  • Full-charge, traditional housekeeping with a focus on maintaining a consistently clean, organized home
  • Daily upkeep including making beds, tidying after children leave for school, and maintaining all common areas
  • Deep cleaning on a rotational basis (dusting, mopping, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.)
  • Laundry management: washing, folding, organizing, and putting away clothing on an ongoing basis
  • Ironing is a significant component of the role, including clothing and bed linens (family currently uses a standard iron; open to upgrading equipment)
  • Maintain closets, drawers, and storage spaces with a high level of organization
  • Clean and maintain appliances and areas (e.g., refrigerator) proactively, without direction
  • Work collaboratively with the nanny to ensure smooth household operations

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is a true self-starter who takes initiative and does not require micromanagement. The principal prefers a "hands-off" approach and trusts the housekeeper to manage the home independently-deciding what needs attention and when.
