Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for ensuring that all administrative functions of the Human Resources Team are completed in a timely manner. The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for ensuring that HR projects and administrative tasks within the HRBP and Benefits teams are completed each week. The HR Assistant will also help provide back up support for the Talent Acquisition Team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administrative execution of various HR programs including but not limited to, associate development/training programs, succession planning, recognition programs and associate engagement survey
  • Coordinate and execute milestone celebrations, Sendik's New Grad program, and WGA Scholarship awards
  • Perform various administrative responsibilities in support of HR programs and initiatives including but not limited too; calendar management, tracking, leader communications; survey management
  • Manages project timelines, leader check ins and coordinates all project milestones with the team
  • Assist with weekly New Hire Orientations
  • Assist with various benefit administrative tasks including, executing monthly eligibility review, preparing leave of absence documentation and templates, handling COBRA administrative requirements and benefit-related communications.
  • Serve customers, associates, vendors and partners while modeling Sendik's culture and providing "best in class" customer service
  • Respond to associate inquiries and provide support and assistance to resolve questions accordingly
  • Review standard operating procedures and practices; proactively seeks ways to improve upon current programs, procedures and processes
  • Assist in the stores during peak holiday seasons as needed
  • Complete other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Work Experience

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Human Resources experience preferred
  • Experience in the retail industry preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels, internally and externally
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Word, Excel and Google Docs
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong sense of security and ability to handle sensitive information
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner
  • Strong sense of team - ability to anticipate the needs of the team
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
