HR Coordinator / Generalist with Manufacturing experience

AMVAC, an American Vanguard Company, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional with manufacturing experience who will manage the daily HR tasks at our busy chemical plant in the Axis area. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, detail-oriented and proactive. Their focus is to provide comprehensive on-site human resources support as we expand the plants capabilities. This fully on-site role plays a critical part in managing key employee lifecycle processes, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting HR operations in a dynamic, fast-paced industrial environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the recruitment efforts including posting job openings on various platforms (ADP, LinkedIn, Indeed).
  • Manage applicants' tracking, coordinate interviews, and oversee pre-employment screenings (background checks)
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes accurately entering data into the Applicant Tracking System
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and site-specific employment regulations and documentation requirement
  • Support bi-weekly payroll processing (exempt and non-exempt) using ADP Workforce Now
  • Audit timecards, maintain accurate employee data, and resolve payroll discrepancies communicating with department managers, benefits and other departments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, overtime, etc.) using Excel, Microsoft tools
  • Support internal and external audits locally and with the corporate office
  • Respond to employee requests in a timely manner and manage expectations in a professional manner

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 1+ year of recruiting experience including sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including EXCEL & WORD; HRIS platforms such as ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills; collaborative, customer-focused, and tech-savvy mindset
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and compliance standards (e.g., EEO, FMLA, I-9, GDPR)
  • Collaborative mind-set working with multiple offices and time zones
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
