Student Assistant - Human Resources Office (ScotsWork Focus)

Location: Carter 103
Hours: 10-15 hours/week | Monday-Friday between 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Eligibility: Upperclassmen only

Position Overview
The HR Student Assistant supports job posting coordination, student employment initiatives, and office operations. This role also plays a key role in advancing student employee engagement and recognition through ScotsWork. Confidentiality and professionalism are essential. Reports to the HR Operations Administrator/Student Employment Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate job description updates with supervisors
  • Track, format, and prepare postings for HR approval
  • Monitor posting status and maintain tracking systems

Student Engagement & Recognition

  • Play a key role in the Student Employee Recognition & Engagement Program
  • Promote nominations, track progress, and prepare awards
  • Assist with Student Employee Appreciation event and HR/ScotsWork events
  • Contribute ideas to enhance student engagement

Communications & Digital Content

  • Update the Student Employee Manual and ScotsWork webpage
  • Draft and format routine communications

Administrative Support

  • Manage HR Student Assistant inbox
  • Assist with student employment tracking and reports
  • Welcome visitors and maintain office organization
  • Support events and complete general office tasks

Research & Review

  • Conduct basic research and assist with job description review

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
