Interviewing Clerk
Your specific responsibilities include greeting and assisting internal and external customers in a courteous and respectful manner that presents a positive public image. You will make sure clients sign in and their information is updated per visit. You will check clients in, reschedule clients, and notify clients of any appointment changes when necessary. You will answer the phone, screen calls, take messages, transfer calls. You will verify and collect client and family income, residency, and insurance status. You will interview clients to determine economic indigence for eligibility of dental health care services provided by NCHD based on established criteria. You will input client services into HSM and the electronic oral health record. You will process records requests and dental referrals, collect fees, issue receipts. You will prepare billings making sure eligibility is verified and attached to each billing, run end of day reports, balance cash drawer and prepare weekly deposits per NCHD policy.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include the ability to collect correct client information in a timely manner. Ability to work effectively with a health care team and maintain an effective working relationship with others. Ability to perform tasks common to their paraprofessional position. Ability to recognize the limitation of one's own knowledge and skills Ability to recognize areas of their own practice in need of improvement Ability to teach other staff in the theory and practice of their positions Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication and ability to apply them. Ability to plan, organize and effectively carry out work assignments. Knowledge of clinic clerical practices, policies and procedures and the ability to apply them.
Qualifications include a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred: One year experience in a dental clerical position Bilingual in English and Spanish Proficient in Eaglesoft or Dentrix dental software.
