The position acts as a Janitorial Employment Professional for the Janitorial Services Department of Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private nonprofit corporation that provides community inclusion and employment services for adults with disabilities. This position trains and supervises individuals to work in a janitorial environment. This position is at multiple locations from Yoncalla, to Myrtle Creek.

  • $16.50/hr.
  • Monday - Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sweeping & mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, restocking.
  • Work effectively as part of a crew.
  • Sanitizing of heavily trafficked areas.
  • Restocking of paper products, i.e., toilet paper, toilet covers, and paper towels.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years' experience working in Janitorial.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work with limited supervision, displaying initiative and creativity in the workplace.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and insurable to Sunrise insurance carrier.
  • Must be dependable and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work both independently and in groups.
  • Proven, stable employment history.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Pass criminal history check, including fingerprints and an additional CJIS background check.
  • Pass drug screen including marijuana/THC.
  • Must have ability and desire to relate to persons with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide commercial janitorial services at the DHS facility in Roseburg in a team environment with crew members within prescribed time limits, including cleaning, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom cleaning, carpet shampooing, window washing, trash collection, maintaining hard floor surfaces (stripping and waxing), using floor equipment, stairwell maintenance, and taking cleaning product from room to room (as per terms and standards of contract).
  • Help control costs of contracts through efficient labor and material use, properly accounting for materials and chemicals.
  • Inform supervisor in a timely manner when materials or products need to be purchased.
  • Maintain and ensure security at DHS facilities.
  • Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors, social skills, respect for others, and cooperation.
  • Utilize tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe manner as prescribed by corporate procedures, utilizing a "safety first" approach at all times.
  • Understand proper use of chemicals and be familiar with their SDS, properly following safety protocols.
  • Know and follow existing quality control of product or service being produced.
  • Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, and committees.
  • Do not exceed responsibility/authority delegated to you by supervisor.
  • Exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by agency policy or procedures.
  • Participate in safety and safety programs.
  • Keep work area in a clean, safe condition.
  • Report any safety hazards, accidents, incidents of neglect, abuse, emergencies, or problems to supervisor and/or appropriate person per policy.
  • Submit timesheets and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Meet regular attendance requirements at assigned worksite because job requires face-to-face interaction with clients, customers, or other employees, and/or because job utilizes on-site product and equipment.

Support Functions

  • Assure quality of Sunrise employment services.
  • Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors, social skills, respect for others, and cooperation.
  • Follow all trainee protocols, including training, employment, medical and behavioral supports.
  • Provide transportation to trainees as needed.
  • Complete and provide evidence of trainings to meet state requirements for Direct Support Professionals.
  • Keep relationships with trainees professional and limited to work settings and supports. Notify your supervisor of any conflicts of interest due to preexisting relationships with trainees.

PREFERENCES

  • Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Previous janitorial experience
