Job Title : Lab Shipping & Receiving Technician
Location: Hopkinton, MA (Onsite)
Duration: Long-term Contract (Contract-to-Hire possible)

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Shipping & Receiving Technician to support daily laboratory operations in a fast-paced environment. This role involves sample intake, media preparation, shipping/receiving, and data entry within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). No prior lab experience is required-training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to accurately complete daily sample entry (30-50%)
  • Receive and process media orders; collect, package, and ship media to clients per order requirements (20-30%)
  • Wash and assemble air sampling media for clients and industrial hygienists
  • Maintain media inventory including tare weights and barcode entry in LIMS
  • Perform gravimetric analysis of air samples following quality control procedures
  • Communicate with clients regarding media orders and sample inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Support general lab operations as needed

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Review emails and process incoming media orders
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and generate UPS labels
  • Receive deliveries (UPS/FedEx), inspect and verify samples against Chain of Custody
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding discrepancies
  • Log samples into LIMS system
  • Prepare media, enter barcode data, and perform gravimetric analysis
  • Receive consumables and chemical shipments; log into inventory system (no handling/exposure; training provided)

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene sampling media
