Lead Quality Inspector
Location: Cheshire, CT
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00/hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Inspector to support and enhance quality operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading inspection activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting production teams while mentoring junior inspectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in-process, and setup inspections
- Collect and prepare inspection samples from CNC screw machines
- Utilize precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and comparators
- Interpret complex mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Accurately document and report inspection results
- Manage internal and external calibration processes using GageTrak
- Train and support new and existing inspection team members
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (screw machine experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools and comparator equipment
- Experience with CMM and/or optical inspection systems (PC-DMIS is a plus)
- High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus
Schedule Details
- 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday
- Overtime available on Fridays as needed
Pay Details: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour
