You will:
Prepare Clean Air Act (CAA) air permits for those facilities for which EPA is the permitting authority and/or review CAA air permits for various facilities that were issued by states, to ensure compliance with the requirements of the CAA and federal and state air regulations.
Provide technical advice and support to state, local or tribal agencies regarding technical and scientific criteria and methods; implementation of pollution control requirements; and impacts of pollutants, to help them ensure compliance with the requirements of the Clean Air Act and federal and state air regulations.
Resolve issues related to Clean Air Act (CAA) air permit requirements by negotiating with owners and other interested parties, and defend permits against legal challenges, along with Office of Regional Counsel (ORC), in order to support ensuring compliance with the requirements of the CAA and federal air regulations.
Respond to inquiries concerning the interpretation and application of the Clean Air Act (CAA) air permit requirements received from the public or other interested parties in order to help them understand how those requirements ensure compliance with the CAA and federal air regulations.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements. One or more positions may be filled (in the organization advertised and/or in other organizations), if appropriate to the position.
