A well-established hardwood manufacturer is searching for a Lumber Inspector (Quality Control Inspector) to join their team! A respected operation in the lumber industry, this company is committed to quality, safety, and its employees. They offer strong benefits and a team-oriented environment with long-term growth opportunities. Lumber Inspector Responsibilities:

  • Inspect hardwood lumber in accordance with NHLA grading standards and customer specifications
  • Learn and apply general and species-specific lumber inspection practices
  • Work alongside a team of 3-4 inspectors in a production environment
  • Conduct live production audits and document quality findings
  • Stop production when materials do not meet required standards
  • Ensure compliance with all plant safety and environmental policies
  • Assist with downstream packaging and production setup procedures
  • Support yard projects and additional operational needs as required
  • Communicate effectively across teams to maintain quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in production quality inspection required
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Experience with hardwood lumber inspection and NHLA grading standards preferred
