Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Controller to oversee and coordinate maintenance operations on a shift basis. This role serves as the central point of contact for aircraft status, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operations across the fleet. The Maintenance Controller provides technical guidance, authorizes critical decisions, and maintains full operational oversight of all aircraft in service.

Qualifications

  • F irframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required
  • FCC First Class Radio Telephone Certificate preferred
  • 5+ years of Line Maintenance experience or 2 years of C-Check plus 2 years of avionics troubleshooting
  • Previous maintenance supervisory experience preferred
  • Manufacturer-approved training on Airbus preferred
  • Strong knowledge of airline maintenance practices, FAA regulations, and maintenance manuals
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage workloads effectively
  • Must complete Required Inspection Item (RII) training

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong systems knowledge and troubleshooting skills (Airbus experience preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, Flight Operations, Dispatch, and flight crews

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct all maintenance activities performed by contract personnel to ensure compliance with manuals and FAA regulations
  • Provide technical guidance and act as the primary decision-maker on technical, operational, and procedural matters
  • Authorize aircraft return-to-service or removal from service if maintenance is not properly completed
  • Promote uncompromising safety standards in all actions and decisions
  • Authorize and oversee the use of vendors for emergency maintenance and ferry inspections at non-maintenance stations
  • Approve MEL/CDL deferrals; develop work scopes, troubleshooting steps, and material requests
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Materials, Technical Support, and Engineering to minimize downtime and operational impact
  • Communicate routing requirements to ensure work is completed at appropriate stations
  • Maintain detailed awareness of fleet status, including out-of-service events
  • Generate and review delay, cancellation, and out-of-service performance reports
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and ensure a clear, thorough turnover to oncoming personnel
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
