Maintenance I
Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent 2. Valid Arizona State Driver's License Required, Commercial Drivers License preferred. 3. Must have at least 1 or 2 years experience and general knowledge of all basic skills of; Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC. 4. Physical required; able to lift up to 100 lbs., no history of back problems. 5. Must be reliable and dependable. 6. Must be computer literate. 7. Must be able to work among students and cooperate with staff of the school district. 8. Ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays. 9. Successful 90 days Probationary period, contracted thereafter.
Supervised By: Maintenance Supervisor
Terms Of Twelve (12) months per year.
Employment: Salary is to be determined by district pay scale and Board.
Position Goal: To be responsible for the Administration of all Maintenance Operation and Programs at the department and district levels. To maintain the facilities, equipment, grounds in a condition of repairs and use, so that full educational use of it may be at all times.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Receives oral or written assignments from immediate supervisor.
- Works with maintenance supervisor in establishing guide lines for the division of responsibility for minor school repairs/emergency repairs.
- Work with or without direct supervision in one or more of the following trades; Grounds, building, maintenance, electrical, heating, air conditioning, plumbing and special trades.
- Maintains and cares for the safe condition of school all building and housing owned and operated by the district.
- Keeps a clean and orderly work environment.
- Assumes primary responsibility for the safe conditions of all painting equipment, carpenter shop equipment, plumbing and electrical fixtures in facilities owned or operated by the school district.
- Paints, repairs and maintains grounds, playgrounds, equipment as required.
- Installs and repairs sprinklers systems.
- Mows and trims grass.
- Cares for all grass, trees, plants, and flowers.
- Conducts safety inspections of playgrounds equipment, repairs as needed.
- Removes snow from drives, parking lots, sidewalks, and other areas as required.
- Removes grounds trash and litter.
- Prepares athletic fields for events.
- Considerable physical activity working outside, in adverse weather condition including extreme heat.
- Must be able to work various shifts and be available for call outs on weekends and holidays.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
- To provide skilled support services to ensure the safe and efficient of school facilities. Willingness to be an integral member of a successful team; dedication to provide the highest level of service to the district.
- Subject to call outs during evenings, weekends or holidays if emergency repairs and maintenance are needed.
- Establish and maintains a good rapport with students, staff, and community members.
- Operates vehicle in a safe and responsible manner at all times; obeys all traffic sign on school campus.
- Performs and receives oral or written assignments from immediate supervisor.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Must be physically capable of obtaining an Arizona Bus Drivers Certificate.
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated twice each year in accordance with the provisions of the Governing Board's policy.
