Job Description

SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician performs work under the guidance of the working forman and in accordance with OSHA and the standard operating procedures of the Maintenance Level I for Martin Operating Partnership Smackover Refinery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs tasks according to all OSHA or Cross Refinery codes, methods and safe practices.
• Operate power-driven and manually operated equipment and tools in a safe manner.
• Assist in determining process and procedures appropriate for materials and situations.
• Maintains and makes minor repairs to operating equipment.
• Determines materials and equipment required and oversees their use, security and disposition.
• Must be able to work in confined or awkward spaces.
• Work extended hours when necessary and be able to be called out for emergency work.
• Must obtain a forklift operator certification.
• Must obtain man-lift operator certification.
• Must obtain 24 hr Hazwoper Certificate.
• Performs other related tasks as instructed.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• A High School Diploma or 2 year associate of applied science degree in an technical field.
• Must be able to operate basic hand and power tools used in equipment repair and modification.
• Should have two years of industrial mechanical/electrical maintenance or construction experience
