Description
Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician provides facilities support to the centers and offices by assessing the need for repair and deciding on the correct course of action to be completed either in-house or by an outside contractor. The Technician utilizes their trade skills to complete minor and major renovation projects and can do repairs to Catalyst's facilities as well as meet with contractors to review scope of repair needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Respond to and validate center requests for repairs.
- Assess needed repair and decide course of action to be either completed in house or by outside contractor.
- Identify additional repairs needed even if not requested by center.
- Perform repairs to centers to include plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring, HVAC, or general mechanical repair.
- Meet with contractor on site to review scope of repairs needed
- Monitor the completion of work by the contractor.
- Communicate with the center or regional office regarding the status of the repair work.
- Communicate with the Director regarding the nature of repairs required and obtain necessary approvals to perform the work.
- Provide Customer Service at Center level and Regional Office
- Ability to identify ADA compliant fixtures for repair
- Ability to identify licensing compliant issues
- Ability to identify playground safety issues
Education & Experience:
Education
- High School Diploma
- Trade/Skill certification preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in general maintenance and repair
- 1-2 years' experience of trade focus
Physical Effort:
- More than 50% of daily assignments involve prolonged physical effort.
Occupational Risks:
- More than 50% of daily assignments involve the potential for accidents and/or occupational risks.
Other Qualifications:
- Fundamental knowledge of construction and general maintenance repair
- Minimum computer skills to include Microsoft Office and email
- Ability to identify ADA compliant fixtures for repair
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making
- Must be flexible and able to multitask with changing schedules
- Action oriented, positive attitude, and "can do" personality
- Ability to pass live scan fingerprint clearance
- Possess reliable transportation
- Travel to centers within the region up to 80% of time
Shift Type: Part Time
Schedule: Flexible schedule. Three 8-hour shifts between the hours of 6am - 6pm, Monday - Friday
