Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our long-term care team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and safety of our facility, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility and equipment to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Ensure resident rooms, common areas, and grounds are maintained in a clean, safe, and functional condition.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
- Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with snow removal, lawn care, and general upkeep of facility grounds.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local health and safety regulations.
- Support the Environmental Services and Housekeeping teams as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work as required.
- Must pass a background check and meet facility health requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC certification or related technical training.
- Prior experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, or assisted living facilities.
Rates are based on experience and schedule.
