Maintenance Utility Technician
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30pm-4:30am
Compensation: $22.70 + $1.50 shift differential
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting and identifying issues with equipment and systems, and performing repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Conducting preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functioning and longevity of equipment and systems.
- Responding to and addressing maintenance requests, including repairs, replacements, and installations.
- Maintaining an inventory of spare parts and equipment and coordinating with vendors for replacements or repairs.
- Keeping maintenance records and documentation, including work orders, repair logs, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility, including performing minor repairs and upkeep tasks.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of equipment and systems for events or projects.
- Collaborating with other maintenance technicians and departments to ensure efficient functioning of the facility.
- Continuously learning new skills and techniques to improve maintenance processes and keep up with industry standards.
- Providing excellent customer service to residents, tenants, or employees by addressing and resolving maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Organized ability to follow systematic methods of performing tasks.
- Sense of urgency – Ability to maintain a level of urgency to address and perform tasks timely.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- Experience: Five (5) plus years related experience; one (1) year forklift experience. Technical or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, with knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with residents, tenants, and vendors.
- Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills.
- Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Driver's License; Forklift Certification Preferred, Ability to obtain certification based on job requirements.
