Key Responsibilities

  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their medical history, pain points and desired outcomes to create a personized treatment plan.
  • Massage Therapy: Apply various hands -on techniques to manipulate muscles and soft tissues for therapeutic and relaxing effects.
  • Client Education: Inform clients about different massage modalities and the benefits of regular massage for their health and wellness.
  • Hygiene and Environment: Ensure the treatment area is clean, sanitary and inviting for clients.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on new massage trends, participate in continuing education, and maintain necessary licenses.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of a massage therapy program (typically 500 hours or more).
  • Licensure: Adherence to all applicable state and local licensing laws and regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in various massage techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and prenatal massage.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to build rapport and listen to client needs.
  • Physical Attributes: Good manual dexterity, stamina, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Professional Qualities: Empathy, compassion, a professional appearance, and a reliable attendance.
