Material Handler 2nd Shift

Material Handler: Freeport, Illinois

Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Material Handler to work full-time on 2nd shift. In this role, you will support warehouse, production, and shipping operations by moving materials, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Responsibilities of the Material Handler:

• Pull, stage, and prepare finished goods accurately using barcode systems.
• Move raw materials, components, and finished products throughout production and shipping areas.
• Perform inventory transactions and updates in MRP/ERP systems.
• Complete daily inventory cycle counts following standard work instructions.
• Inspect finished goods to ensure quality and packaging standards are met.
• Wrap, crate, and package products securely for shipment.
• Load and unload pallets, conveyors, and trucks safely and efficiently.
• Manage scrap materials and maintain proper disposal procedures.
• Communicate potential late orders or issues to the Supervisor.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe packaging and work areas.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet shipping and production goals.

Material Handler Requirements and Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of material handling or warehouse experience preferred.
• Familiarity with barcoding systems and inventory software.
• Ability to handle, stack, and move materials safely to prevent damage.
• Basic understanding of shipping, packaging, and freight practices.
• Ability to operate hand tools used in packaging or crating.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet operational demands.

Pay for Material Handler:

$18.42–$21.53/hour.
