Position Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of raw materials, components, and finished goods within a manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring timely delivery of materials and maintaining accurate inventory levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Practice safe working habits and follow safety procedures, policy, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9001:2008.
  • Deliver raw materials and components to production lines in a timely manner.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by properly labeling, storing, and tracking materials.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and production areas.
  • Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Report any damaged or missing items to supervisors.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Basic math and computer skills (inventory systems experience is a plus).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • May require overtime or shift work, including weekends.
