Description
Inserting Inventory Material Handler
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
Shift:
- 2nd Shift
- 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Position Summary:
The Inserting Inventory Material Handler plays a key role in maintaining an organized and efficient production floor. This position ensures inventory is properly stocked, labeled, and readily available so materials can be quickly added to work order carts. Accuracy in selecting inventory, envelopes, and inserts is essential to the success of daily operations. This role also includes ordering inventory from the warehouse and performing other duties as needed.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Inventory Organization & Housekeeping
- Organize and maintain floor inventory for efficient access
- Keep work areas clean, orderly, and free of debris
- Maintain accurate labeling of shelf spaces
- Ensure all boxes are clearly labeled with the correct inventory codes
Inventory Ordering & Tracking
- Carefully review work orders and requisitions
- Order correct stock through RIMS, noting urgency and required delivery time
- Track orders through completion and document delivery times
Material Handling Requirements
- Approximately 90% of tasks involve very light lifting (under 10 lbs)
- Approximately 10% of tasks require lifting between 25-30 lbs
Work Order & Cart Preparation
- Accurately read and follow work orders
- Select the correct envelopes and inserts
- Pick the required quantity plus an additional 5%
- Use count scales for larger orders
- Verify counts by weighing sample quantities (10 units)
Powered Equipment Operation
- Safely operate powered material-handling equipment
- Maintain required equipment certifications
- Deliver inventory to the production floor
- Return excess or unused inventory to the warehouse
- Track and document delivery timing and urgency
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
