Medical Assistant – Port Jefferson

Job Description

HumanHire is partnered with a well-established, multi-site healthcare organization seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy outpatient practice. This role centers on patient intake, clinical assistance, basic diagnostic procedures, and working closely with providers in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Facilitate patient intake and accurately capture medical histories and visit details
• Obtain and process lab specimens, including blood draws
• Measure and document vital signs
• Prepare patients for exams and minor procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and proper sterilization of clinical tools and exam rooms
• Assist providers during patient visits and in-office procedures
• Perform basic diagnostic testing such as EKGs and other point-of-care tests
• Support clinical documentation and data entry within the electronic medical record system
• Provide general support to clinical and administrative staff as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is a plus
• Understanding of infection control practices and proper use of protective equipment
• Ability to remain active throughout the day, including standing, bending, and computer use
• Ability to lift moderate weight when needed
• Flexibility to commute between nearby office locations as required
