Ammunition Handling
Help
- Loads, repacks, unloads, stacks, palletizes, issues, bands, inspects, reconfigures, counts, documents, and stores ammunition and explosive material into storage areas, IAW SOPs, TMs, DOD regulations, drawings, and safety standards.
- Performs warehousing and re-warehousing of ammunition and explosive material.
- Processes, handles, and stores materials and equipment, logs, receipt, storage, and shipment data; and uses manual or mechanized equipment to move, stack, bin, and position materials and equipment.
- Inspects individual munitions items and related material (components, packaging, and safety restraints) for specific signs of deterioration, defects, contamination, discrepancies, improper markings, malfunction, leakage, etc.
- Secures freight and equipment, that is heavy, unbalance, fragile, and hazardous to withstand severe stress such as that which results from storm-caused tossing at sea and similar cargo
- Operates material handling equipment in performance of duties using forklifts rated to a lifting capacity greater than 10,000lbs that can extend to 168" and weigh up to 40,000lbs.
