Packaging Mechanic / Packaging Technician
Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Packaging Mechanic / Packaging Technician role in Vancouver, WA. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on packaging equipment including fillers, sealers, labelers, conveyors, and palletizing systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections of packaging machinery to identify wear, defects, or potential failures.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and line adjustments to support different product runs and packaging formats.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure packaging lines meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance and production environment.
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or operational concerns to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanical maintenance, industrial technology, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with packaging machinery, production equipment, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read basic technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, standing, and working around moving equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
