Precision Assembler/Repair Technician
International Machine tool builder company is seeking full-time Mechanical Assembler/Repair Technician to perform a wide variety of tasks associated with assembling and rebuilding machine tool components at our facility in Erie PA. Mechanical background with precision assembly, setting bearings, gear play and ability to operate tool room equipment required.
They are seeking a dedicated Precision Assembler/Repair Technician to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical components with precision and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with assembly line processes, and familiarity with factory environments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet stringent standards and customer expectations.

Technical skills include:
- Mechanical Assembly: Rolling-element bearing installation (heated / press fit), shaft, housing, and tolerance stack-up assemblies, gear trains, couplings, splines, and keyed shafts, mechanical alignment and fit verification
- Measurement & Metrology: Micrometers (OD / ID / depth), dial indicators & test indicators, bore gauges, height gauges & surface plates, feeler gauges & torque tools
- Toolroom Equipment: Engine lathe, manual milling machine, drill press, surface grinder (basic use), arbor press / hydraulic press
- Documentation: Reading and following detailed assembly drawings, working from German-style OEM prints and BOMs, recording assembly measurements and settings
Must possess the following type of Quality and Workmanship Approach:
- High attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
- Comfortable working to tight tolerances and OEM specifications
- Disciplined torque, cleanliness, and inspection practices
- Pride in craftsmanship and repeatable results
Associate Degree or Technical Diploma (Preferred) in Mechanical Technology / Machine Tool Technology / Industrial Maintenance Technical School or Community College.
Additional needs:
- Able to work day or 2nd shift
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as required by workload
- Comfortable with limited travel (up to ~25%)
- Eligible to work in the United States
