Production Operator

The basic function of the production operator is to perform duties necessary to accomplish production in a safe, quality driven and efficient manner.

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • Maintain adherence to all safety guidelines.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through the active promotion of MAC Quality Policy.
  • Strictly follow current procedures, work instructions, quality alerts, one point lessons, authorized forms and other applicable documentation.
  • Meet or exceed all quality standards.
  • Actively participate in 5S and housekeeping activities to achieve and maintain expectations.
  • Maintain equipment through proper preventative maintenance measures as applicable.
  • Complete assigned work in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Prepare all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain sufficient training on multiple operations to enhance the flexibility of the production department.
  • Promote continual improvement and cost saving opportunities.
  • Maintain prompt and effective communication to assure MAC success.
  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Work within the guidelines and expectations of MAC policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
  • Continuously demonstrate a positive attitude, teamwork, and cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds on a somewhat repetitive basis.
  • Able to bend, stoop, and reach on a somewhat repetitive basis.
  • Able to use and operate tools and equipment consistent with the assigned job.
  • Able to produce and inspect parts with conform to product and quality specifications.
  • Able to work overtime during the week and on weekends as needed; at times this will be necessary on short notice as business conditions change.

Technical competencies:

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Good math skills.

Non-technical competencies:

  • Good communication skills (verbal, listening)
  • Results-oriented and takes ownership
