Description
Production Operator
The basic function of the production operator is to perform duties necessary to accomplish production in a safe, quality driven and efficient manner.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Maintain adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through the active promotion of MAC Quality Policy.
- Strictly follow current procedures, work instructions, quality alerts, one point lessons, authorized forms and other applicable documentation.
- Meet or exceed all quality standards.
- Actively participate in 5S and housekeeping activities to achieve and maintain expectations.
- Maintain equipment through proper preventative maintenance measures as applicable.
- Complete assigned work in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
- Prepare all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain sufficient training on multiple operations to enhance the flexibility of the production department.
- Promote continual improvement and cost saving opportunities.
- Maintain prompt and effective communication to assure MAC success.
- Work under minimal supervision.
- Work within the guidelines and expectations of MAC policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
- Continuously demonstrate a positive attitude, teamwork, and cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds on a somewhat repetitive basis.
- Able to bend, stoop, and reach on a somewhat repetitive basis.
- Able to use and operate tools and equipment consistent with the assigned job.
- Able to produce and inspect parts with conform to product and quality specifications.
- Able to work overtime during the week and on weekends as needed; at times this will be necessary on short notice as business conditions change.
Technical competencies:
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
- Good math skills.
Non-technical competencies:
- Good communication skills (verbal, listening)
- Results-oriented and takes ownership
