PRODUCTION OPERATOR

LOCATION: Taylor, MI

ALL SHIFTS

REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

UNION CONTRACT

DESCRIPTION: At Oakwood Group, our Production Operators manufacture one or both of our industry-leading products. The Production Operator stamps, custom coats, or assembles metal automotive speaker grill covers and/or produces, shapes, molds, and sorts Energy Absorbing Safety Plastics for various applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
• Set-Up: Report to work as scheduled and prepare for the workday by ensuring all required materials and supplies are organized and safe at the workstation.
• Operate Equipment: Set up and operate machines that cut, shape, custom coat, and assemble metal parts according to customer specifications. Alert supervision immediately when the equipment is not functioning correctly.
• Quality Control: Perform FIFO and LILO according to process and alert supervision when the specs are unmet. Reference and follow Work Instructions and produce material according to established production rates.
• Ensure scrap is minimized, collected in the appropriate bins, and removed as necessary to keep a tidy and organized work area.
• Packaging: Pack the finished product(s) according to process.
• Record Keeping: Log into the ERP system before performing any work, follow all instructions as outlined, and maintain accurate production data records, including quantities produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
• Collaboration: Maintain an environment of teamwork by collaborating with coworkers and supervision to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Demonstrate TOG's Core Values in every aspect of the job.
• Safety: Follow all Safety guidelines, protocols, and policies while maintaining a clean, organized working area. Wear personal protective equipment assigned per work area and alert supervision immediately when issues arise,

CORE COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year manufacturing experience.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and read and comprehend simple and complex instructions.
• Successful track record in adapting to changing circumstances.
• Meaningful and respectful communication.
• Must be able to perform all physical duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
