What You Can Expect
Own the heartbeat of our supply chain as the new Production Planner at Paragon 28, a Zimmer Biomet company.
In this role, you aren't just scheduling—you're the primary owner of our global surgical kit planning, ensuring our life-changing foot and ankle innovations reach the OR exactly when they're needed. You'll be the central bridge connecting Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to turn demand forecasts into reality.
What you'll do:
- Master the Process: Own the end-to-end journey from initial forecast to sterile kit execution.
- Collaborate Broadly: Serve as the "mission control" for Procurement, Quality, and Sales to keep schedules stable and feasible.
- Drive Growth: Manage risks proactively to ensure we never miss a beat as our business scales.

How You'll Create Impact
Kit Planning & Scheduling (Primary Responsibility)
- Own the end-to-end global kit planning process for all sterile and non-sterile kits.
- Develop, maintain, and publish kit production schedules based on demand forecasts, sales requirements, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
- Translate forecasted and firm demand into executable kit build plans, balancing service level, inventory, and operational efficiency.
- Manage and adjust kit build schedules in response to demand changes, material constraints, or production disruptions.
- Clearly communicate kit build schedules, changes, risks, and recovery plans to cross-functional stakeholders.
Material & Sub-Component Coordination
- Partner closely with Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure sub-component and raw material readiness for planned kit builds.
- Monitor material availability and constraints that could impact sterile kit builds and proactively escalate risks.
- Coordinate timing of sub-component availability with sterile processing and final kit assembly requirements.
Production & Sterile Processing Execution
- Create and maintain production, sterile processing, and UDI schedules aligned to kit plans.
- Release and manage manufacturing and sterile processing orders; track execution through completion.
- Monitor WIP, finished goods, and kit inventory to ensure alignment with plan.
- Collaborate with Distribution to ensure capacity, labor, and resources are aligned to kit build requirements.
Cross-Functional Communication & Business Alignment
- Act as the primary point of contact for kit build planning across Operations, Commercial, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, and risks with clarity and appropriate lead time.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes by providing kit supply inputs and scenario analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Background
- Four-year Degree (B.S/B.A.) preferred, may accept prior supply chain experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in related field such as supply planning, purchasing, or supply chain required, preferably in medical device environment, may accept prior military service in leadership positions in lieu of specific supply chain experience
- Sterile processing experience required.
- APICS CSCP/CPIM certification preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advance level Excel skills.
- Support lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives.
- Highly effective communication skills.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with detailed product line forecasts; familiarity with Sales & Operations business management process.
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvement.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with various cross functional teams.
- SAP ECC or S4 experience preferred to plan and monitor production.
- Previous medical device experience preferred.
Travel Expectations
Up to 25% overnight travel
Compensation Data
Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 USD annually depending on skills and experience
