Position Summary

SAGE (The Survivors Alliance for Growth and Employment) is seeking a Volunteer Marketing Associate to support our outreach, brand presence, and earned-revenue initiatives. This volunteer role offers meaningful, hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing while directly supporting a mission-driven organization that provides trauma-informed employment and training opportunities for survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

This position is ideal for individuals looking to build marketing experience, contribute professional skills to a high-impact nonprofit, or explore values-driven communications work. Volunteers will work closely with SAGE leadership on real projects with measurable outcomes and portfolio-ready deliverables.

Role Description

The Volunteer Marketing Associate supports SAGE’s marketing and communications efforts across digital platforms, fundraising initiatives, and earned-income programs. The role focuses on ethical storytelling, clarity of value, and professional brand representation. All marketing emphasizes impact and outcomes while maintaining respect for survivor dignity and privacy.

This is a structured, supervised volunteer role with defined expectations, feedback, and mentorship. While unpaid, the position provides professional development, references upon successful completion, and tangible work experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and scheduling content for social media, email campaigns, and the SAGE website
• Support marketing for earned-revenue activities (IT resale, creative goods, services)
• Draft and edit copy aligned with SAGE’s brand voice and values
• Conduct basic market, audience, or keyword research
• Track engagement metrics and assist with simple performance reporting
• Organize marketing assets, photos, and documentation
• Support outreach campaigns to donors, volunteers, and community partners

This volunteer role is flexible and may be remote or hybrid depending on availability and location.
