We are seeking a reliable, responsible, and detailed oriented Quality Assurance Inspector. with a strong background in Bottling Quality Control. able to perform visual and dimensional inspections, documenting findings, and supporting production teams in maintaining compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices(cGMP)

  • Pay range: $20/ hr
  • Schedule: Third Shift 9pm - 5:30am
  • Monday - Friday (Saturday overtime from time to time)
  • Location: Modesto, CA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules for current and upcoming orders.
  • Perform inspections at job start-up and complete all required quality documentation accurately and legibly in accordance with cGMP standards.
  • Communicate with previous shift personnel to understand any quality issues encountered.
  • Conduct scheduled rounds to verify correct materials, box quantities, labels, bags, and packaging are being used.
  • Visually inspect bottles for defects including (but not limited to): cracks, orange peel, under-blown bottles, nicks, pits, deformation, rocking bottoms, and contamination.
  • Compare products against documented specifications (e.g., part prints, Quality Inspection Plans) to ensure compliance.
  • Document defective parts in accordance with nonconforming product procedures.
  • Utilize handheld measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and drop indicators.
  • Perform destructive and drop testing as required.
  • Verify accuracy of labels and pallet tags according to job specifications.
  • Accurately input job start-up data into First Article Logs (Excel).
  • Follow proper line clearance procedures.
  • Ensure all required product information is available at the start of each job (sample boards, quality alerts, work instructions).
  • Perform leak detector challenge tests per control plans.
  • Record cycle time, blow time, and exhaust time during production runs.
  • Provide break relief for assigned personnel as needed.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company health and safety policies.
  • Maintain a "safety-first" mindset at all times.
  • Complete all required annual safety training.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with GMP standards.
  • Perform periodic safety inspections of assigned areas.
  • Report all accidents and notify management immediately when incidents occur.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings.

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong food safety culture.
  • Report any food safety concerns to a supervisor or the Quality Manager.
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Perform assigned cleaning tasks per the Master Cleaning Schedule and document completion.
  • Complete all required quality and food safety training.
  • Understand customer complaints, their impact on operations, and your role in preventing them.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in plastics manufacturing or a similar industrial environment is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control principles and visual inspection standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, work orders, and packaging specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Exposure to machinery noise, temperature variations, and plastic materials.
  • Work may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and wind.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment

  • Moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing floor.
  • Dynamic environment requiring focus, endurance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
