Quality Inspector I
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: M - F | 5:00 am - 1:30 pm
Years of Experience (Required): 1 - 2 years
Must Haves:
- Experience with gauges, calipers, torque range, filler gauges, lead partitions gauges, micrometers
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards, as well as Aerospace Standards - AS9100 used on aviation, space, and defense organizations.
- Successful and comfortable engaging with auditors to support AS9100/ISO compliance activities.
- Experience doing first articles (FAI) in accordance with the Aerospace Standards
Job Designation:
The Quality Inspector 1 performs routine visual inspections of components, parts, and/or products in the assigned area, according to detailed job instructions and procedures. Identifies routine quality issues and resolves problems to meet quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Performs routine visual inspection of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, and subassemblies.
• Works as part of the QA team, applies basic-level inspector process knowledge, practices, and procedures to standard routine tasks.
• Participates in preparing all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items.
• Supports and participates in internal audits and corrective action follow-ups, as required.
• Implements and maintains technical quality assurance procedures.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Inspecting wires, sensors such as force sensors, pressure sensors, etc., using ring gauges, calipers, torque ranges, micrometers, and other tools
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required.
• May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications:
• Ability to follow detailed job instructions.
• Able to apply a systematic Quality Assurance approach while using existing procedures to solve standard problems.
• Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment.
• Capable of identifying and independently resolving routine issues.
• Experience with blueprints, drawings and parts lists.
• Familiar with the casting, forging, molding, stainless-steel and electronic components use in Aerospace industry.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, as well as Aero Space Standards like AS9100 use on aviation, space and defense organizations.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Effective oral and written communication
Nice To Have:
• Experience with all type of inspection tools like: Gauges, calipers, height gages, pin and block gages, V-blocks surface inspection tables, micrometers, and comparators
• Experience creating First Article Inspection Reports in compliance with AS9102 and customer-specific requirements
• Experience in performing internal audits based on established criteria and records the results.
• Experience with interpreting engineering drawings using the language of Geometrical Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T) described in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Y14.5 standards.
• Experience completing first articles (FAI) in accordance with the Aerospace Standards AS9100.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Bilingual; fluent in the English and Spanish preferred
Education & Experience:
Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
