Quality Technician

Our customer in Dakota, Illinois, is seeking detail-oriented individuals to join their team as Quality Technicians. This role supports food safety and product quality by performing inspections, testing, and documentation throughout the production process while working closely with production teams to ensure standards are met.

Responsibilities of the Quality Technician:
  • Perform quality checks in the quality lab following established work instructions.
  • Conduct food quality testing including pH, moisture, salt, viscosity, and color verification.
  • Inspect product appearance, flavor, aroma, texture, and overall package quality.
  • Perform seamer checks, in-process weight checks, pressure, vacuum, x-ray, and tap tone monitoring.
  • Verify production paperwork, charts, labels, case codes, and pallet patterns for accuracy.
  • Perform floor quality audits and food safety inspections.
  • Communicate quality concerns or deviations to Production Supervisors and staff.
  • Place non-conforming product on hold, generate NCPs, apply hold tags, and update QC status in the system.
  • Inspect cleanliness of production equipment and work areas prior to operation.
  • Order and maintain quality control standards per schedule.
  • Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned.
Quality Technician Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required (experience may be considered in lieu of education).
  • Strong computer, math, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality procedures.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English required.
  • Prior experience in quality, beverage, or manufacturing preferred but not required.

Pay for Quality Technician: $18.00/hour plus $1.00 shift differential for night shift.

Type: Night Shift, Full-time.

Schedule: 2/2/3 rotation, 5:40pm–6:00am with a 20-minute lunch break.
