Quarry Loader/Operator

DEEP RIVER CT LOCATION

Position Summary:

The Quarry Truck Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a front-end loader to load customer trucks, manage material stockpiles, and oversee day-to-day yard operations. This role also includes assisting in supervising plant activities as needed and maintaining positive, professional interactions with customers on-site. The ideal candidate has strong equipment skills, attention to detail, and good communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a front-end loader to load customer trucks accurately and safely.
  • Communicate directly with drivers and customers to ensure correct materials and load weights.
  • Maintain organized, clearly marked stockpiles and loading areas.
  • Assist with oversight of daily yard and plant operations as needed.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping for loads, tickets, and materials.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all site safety protocols.
  • Assist with material inventory, traffic flow, and general yard maintenance.
  • Supervise operations or personnel in the absence of the foreman or plant manager.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience operating loaders or similar heavy equipment (quarry or aggregate experience preferred).
  • Prior experience loading customer trucks required.
  • Customer service or dispatch experience (ability to interact professionally with truck drivers and customers).
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of aggregate materials, stockpile management, and safe loading practices.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and safety awareness.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Typical schedule: [Insert schedule, e.g., Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Saturdays as needed]
  • Outdoor, heavy industrial environment with exposure to dust, noise, and vibration.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required during peak demand.
