RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries Inc., is looking for a Railcar Shop/Maintenance Coordinator. The Shop Coordinator's primary objective is to manage and enhance the coordination and monitoring of railcar shipments to/from and between origin and shops and maximize timely and successful shipments of railcars for maintenance, qualifications, and/or cleaning. This role will mitigate service disruptions and optimize shipments to minimize out of service time of the railcar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure railcars moving to/from shops have proper billing instructions applied
- Troubleshoot billing issues in a timely manner
- Maximize timely and successful shipments of railcars for maintenance, qualifications, and/or cleaning
- Mitigate service disruptions and optimizes shipments to ensure minimal out of service time for the railcars
- Knowledge of bill of lading requirements, basic terminology, rail routing options is critical to perform this task
- Monitor railcar movement, identify railcars moving out of route or not in a timely manner and intervene in a timely manner
- Open escalation logs with the railroads where necessary, track all communication and track issues to close
- Communication escalations internally
- Collaborate with client and car owners to ensure shopping instructions are accurate and complete
- Create bills of lading and/or diversion request to move the railcar(s) from client facility to home shops
- Work closely with maintenance coordinators to align on maintenance priorities and escalated issues
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in rail operations or logistics coordination
- Bachelor's degree in logistics supply chain management preferred
- System savvy (prior ERP experience or Rail TMS is a big plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
