This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking a compassionate, attentive, and reliable youth respite provider to support a very active 4-year-old child with autism. This role is designed to provide relief for the parent while ensuring the child remains safe, supported, and positively engaged. The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and comfortable balancing both active play and calm, structured interactions. This position includes time both in the home and out in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent one-on-one supervision to ensure safety during all activities (indoor and outdoor)
  • Support the child with emotional regulation, using calm and structured approaches
  • Engage in age-appropriate activities, including movement-based play, walks, and activities
  • Assist with maintaining daily routines and transitions
  • Accompany the child to community activities, including swim lessons, open gym, side-by-side play, and appointments
  • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with the parent

Qualifications

  • Calm, observant, and able to maintain a safe, structured environment
  • Experienced with children with autism or sensory needs (preferred)
  • Skilled in de-escalation, redirection, and routine-based care
  • Comfortable with both active engagement and quiet regulation support
  • Patient, compassionate, and adaptable
  • A strong communicator who values collaboration with families
  • Comfortable around water and able to participate in swimming activities

Requirements

  • Must pass a background and caregiver screening
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • First Aid and CPR required

Why This Role Matters

Make a meaningful impact by providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for a child to grow and thrive. Your presence will help create stability and confidence for both the child and their family.
