Sea-Bird Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Production Assembly Technician I to support our Manufacturing & Operations team. In this role, you will use a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, jigs, test equipment and work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble and/or test instruments or subassemblies. This position relies primarily on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job functions.
This role reports to the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing & Operations.
This is an onsite, day shift role and will be part of our Sea-Bird Scientific Manufacturing & Operations Team in our Bellevue, WA location.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Perform pre-assembly quality check on all components
- Follow detailed assembly instructions in a variety of formats (i.e., drawings, schematics, bills of material, internal procedures or some combination thereof), and report work completed, on a daily basis
- Perform quality checks on completed assemblies, as needed
- Understand and meet quality and delivery requirements
- Recognize and report problems with quality, processes, equipment or materials to Production Lead, Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing best practices
- Participate in Kaizen Events
The essential requirements of the job include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of related work experience
It would be an asset if you have:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong electro-mechanical skills (soldering, proper wire stripping and crimping techniques)
- Basic knowledge of necessary instruments and tools

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $25.00 - $29.00 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
